Rs 2.86L stolen from dickey of a two-wheeler

NAGPUR: Unidentified miscreants robbed Rs 2.86 lakh kept in the dickey of a twowheeler at Deshpande layout in Wardhaman Nagar on Friday evening.
The cash was withdrawn from ICICI Bank in Chappru Nagar by Sonu Kirpani, a resident of Kalamna railway quarters. The theft took place after Kirpani had gone to buy sweets.
On his return, Kirpani was shocked to see the broken lock of the dickey with the cash missing.

Kirpani works as a senior accountant in a fruit shop owned by Haji Mohammad in Kalamna.
The victim had also withdrawn 3 lakh — Rs 1 lakh from the same ICICI bank and Rs 2 lakh from the nearby State Bank of India. After giving the cash to his employer, he was again asked to withdraw Rs 2.86 lakh.
The miscreants might have kept an eye on Kirpani since morning, said cops. Youth booked for cheating: On a complaint lodged by the Naik Tehsildar from rural police, a 20-year-old youth was arrested for producing counterfeit documents to get a solvency certificate.
The incident took place on Wednesday when Subhash Moon, a resident of Yadav Nagar, had applied for a solvency certificate. Moon had used fake signatures of an advocate, but was caught. Sadar police have registered a case.
